Week Five Update

Good morning readers!
I hope everyone had a great weekend. Did anyone managed to pick up any new additions for their bookshelves? Let me know on the Facebook page or by tweeting with #Readarama.
This week’s read, Sue Townsend’s Rebuilding Coventry, is still to be picked up. Not through procrastination, unlike last week, but due to the weekend being a bit of a hectic one!
Ask anyone that knows me and they will tell you that I’m a huge fan of Sue Townsend. I used to steal my brother’s copies of Adrian Mole and recently rediscovered my love for her extremely British humour in The Queen and I. Sue Townsend has always had a place reserved on my bookshelves.
I’m really looking forward to reading Rebuilding Coventry, as it’s the only Sue Townsend title that I haven’t read. For anyone that is familiar with Sue Townsend’s writing, you’ll know that she will have you laughing out loud within seconds of opening the book with her hilarious satiric commentary on British life.
Rebuilding Coventry seems like it won’t disappoint in the comedy stakes. The book revolves around Coventry Dakin, a Midlands housewife who has killed her neighour and so flees to London where she meets a host of eccentric characters.
On that note, I’m off to get stuck into it over lunch! Let me know in the comments if you’ll be reading Rebuilding Coventry, or if you have another title on your reading list this week.
